WWE News: Possible Spoiler On Randy Orton Return Plans

It’s been just over a month since we’ve seen Randy Orton on WWE television, and now, it looks like WWE’s plans for Orton when he returns may have been leaked.

By now, everyone has likely already figured out that Orton will be returning at this Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view, and he will probably be getting involved in the tables match main-event between Seth Rollins and John Cena. Most people are assuming that Orton will cost Rollins the match, however, that may not be the case.

There are plans for Randy Orton to return as a babyface, but, the question is, what kind of babyface will Orton be? Well, according to a report, Orton could end up costing John Cena the match and take out Rollins afterwards. There are several reasons why this makes sense. One of them is that the stipulation that is in place for the Cena vs. Rollins match, which if Cena loses, he loses his title match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble next month. So, the best way for Orton to be a potential contender for Lesnar’s WWE title is to make sure Cena loses against Rollins. Also, Orton could get his hands on Rollins after he costs Cena the match.

Back at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, Randy Orton lost to John Cena in a match where the winner got the next crack at Brock Lesnar and the WWE title. So, if Cena loses, and Orton is named the new number one contender for Lesnar’s WWE title, that’ll make the match Orton and Cena had back in October meaningless in hindsight. However, WWE fans likely won’t care as Orton vs. Lesnar is a more desired match than the third Cena vs. Lesnar match in five months.

If Orton returns and costs Cena his number one contender spot for the WWE title, that could lead to another Cena vs. Orton match, possibly at the February pay-per-view, which would make WWE fans everywhere groan as the Cena vs, Orton match back at Hell in a Cell was supposed to be their last one-on-one match with each other ever.

It’s a certainty that Randy Orton will be returning at WWE TLC this coming Sunday, and WWE has two options with him. In both of the scenarios, Orton will end up getting his hands on Seth Rollins, and Orton vs. Rollins will likely go one-on-one at WrestleMania 31. But before WWE puts Rollins and Orton in the ring to go one-on-one, Orton may have a WWE championship match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
