‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’s’ Newest Cast Member — Al Pacino?

According to Time Magazine, Al Pacino hinted that he is in talks with Marvel studios for a possible role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

The Oscar-award winning actor spoke on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz on Monday, where he discussed his meeting with the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige. Saying “I’ve met with the Marvel guy [Feige], it’s a marvel how things happen.”

The actor continued by saying, “I would imagine that either there’s something he feels is right for me –,” then he was interrupted by a phone call, maybe he had already said too much.

Unfortunately, Pacino did not reveal much more about any upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy roles. It really is a marvel, as just a few months ago Pacino revealed to the same host that he really enjoyed Guardians.

Earlier this year, Pacino told Josh Horowitz on MTV News that he is “ready to go to Marvel.” The 74-year-old actor took his kids to see Guardians of the Galaxy. He figured he would just turn his brain off and let the children enjoy the film, but Pacino was pleasantly surprised.

“I was really impressed, especially with that 70’s music… it’s amazing, and inventive, and funny, and dark and deep.”

He went on to say that Guardians of the Galaxy even had something Shakespearean about it.

According to the Guardian, news broke about Al Pacino’s praise for the film in September, which left the actor a little confused.

“It was just inventive, funny, strong, the production of it, the ingenuity of it. Why wouldn’t I like a movie like that, appreciate a movie like that? I’m not necessarily going to be in it, but there’s value to it.”

It appears like Pacino may have been speaking a bit too early about not being in Guardians, or maybe he was just trying to throw people off his trail.

The big question is, what character from the Marvel galaxy is Pacino perfect to play?

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it can’t be another Earthling, and writer/director James Gunn is leaning towards more female characters in general. Still, with enough make-up and CG amazing things can happen. Who ever saw Vin Diesel as Groot?

It sounds like the people behind Guardians of the Galaxy see a good fit for Pacino, it’s just up to the die-hard fans to figure out what it is.

We won’t know for sure until May 2017, when Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is scheduled for release.
