‘Teen Mom 2’ Salary: Leah Calvert Rejoins Show Because She ‘Needs The Money’
Leah Calvert’s Teen Mom 2 salary is reportedly what lured her back to the show. Last month, the mother of three took to Twitter, where she confirmed she would not return for the show’s sixth season, but now she’s reportedly signed on to appear, allegedly because she needs the MTV paycheck.
“She changed her mind! Leah Messer signs on to Teen Mom 2 Season 6 after announcing show departure,” Radar Online reported on December 9.
As the Inquisitr reported, Calvert announced she was leaving the show, and her Teen Mom 2 salary, after five seasons. A short time after her statement, which was made via Twitter, a source claimed the show was to blame for Calvert’s recent marital issues.
“Things are still rocky for them,” a friend of Calvert’s told Radar Online. “Leah is doing everything she can to keep her family together, including leaving reality TV. All the attention from the show played a hand in one failed marriage, and she’s not going to let that happen again.”
A second report, via Inquisitr, claimed Calvert left the show because of her ongoing custody battle with her ex-husband, Corey Simms.
“Leah’s final court date is coming up, and her behavior on the show made her look really bad to the judge,” a source explained to Radar. “Leah’s daughters are her number one priority. Now that the show could lead her to lose custody, she’s ready to leave her reality TV life behind.”
Ashley’s Reality Roundup first reported on the news of Calvert’s return to show, claiming her Teen Mom 2 salary played a major role in the decision. “She needs the money,” a source said.
“Although Leah was worried about having her marriage turmoil exposed on national TV again, she has agreed to do Season 6,” the site reported. “Leah signed the Season 6 paperwork last week and will begin filming her segments soon!”
As fans have likely heard, Calvert was recently accused of cheating on her husband, Jeremy Calvert, with her ex-boyfriend, Robbie Kidd.
“With Leah now on board for Season 6, her ex, Corey Simms, will also be allowed to film,” the site continued. “It’s not known whether or not Leah’s estranged husband Jeremy will sign on. The Ashley thinks it’s unlikely, as he seems to want very little to do with Leah or the MTV crew at this point, but she can’t confirm or deny that he will be a part of Season 6.”
According to OK! Magazine, Calvert’s Teen Mom 2 salary is $75,000 per season, plus bonuses.
