Stephanie Moseley was killed in a horrific murder-suicide that may have resulted from speculation of an alleged affair. As details continue to surface, several media outlets are reporting that her husband, Earl Hayes, may have had suspicions about an alleged affair she may have been having with Grammy Award-nominated singer Trey Songz.
Sources close to the couple, who reportedly wed back in 2008, have revealed that their split two years ago was because of her alleged fling with the Trigga singer. Although the two reconciled, apparently Hayes still had trust issues and reservations about the VH1 star’s actions going forward.
TMZ reported “Sources connected with Hayes tell us… around 2 years ago he separated from Stephanie because of what he says was her affair with Songz. They got back together but, as one friend put it, “He was crushed and never got over it.” We’re told he frequently brought up Songz.”
Although TMZ’s sources specifically stated that Hayes’ insecurities were specifically about speculation of her alleged affair with Trey Songz, Vibe magazine reported that he “frequently” accused her of sleeping with celebrities and entertainers.
On Monday, December 8, his insecurities apparently spiraled out of control, leading to the shocking murder-suicide. Hayes, a rapper signed to Floyd Mayweather’s Money Team label, was reportedly face-timing with the famed boxer. Unfortunately, things took a devastating turn while Hayes was on the call with Mayweather. He fatally shot Moseley then turned the gun on himself during the call with the 37-year-old boxer, reports XXL.
Several media outlets have also shared details from sources close to Mayweather. Apparently, Hayes had stated that he was going to kill Moseley. Mayweather reportedly pleaded with Hayes to calm down, but to no avail. Although no specific details have been released about the conversation Mayweather overheard, he has stated that he witnessed the gruesome crime.
The “Foreign” singer took to Twitter with words of condolences for the slain dancers. However, his words are like those of most celebrities and fans grieving Moseley’s untimely death.
R.I.P babygirl. Once an angel on earth, now watching over us from Heaven. You'll b missed but never forgotten. Love— Trey Songz (@TreySongz) December 9, 2014
The investigation of the murder-suicide is said to be ongoing.
