Vicki Gunvalson Claims Bravo Threatened To Cut Her Role If She Didn’t Have Brooks Ayers Join Her On ‘RHOC’

Vicki Gunvalson will be appearing on The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s 10th season with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brooks Ayers. However, it’s not entirely because she wants to have him at her side.

According to a new interview, Gunalson has revealed that Bravo is behind Ayers’ recurring role on the show.

“It’s really frightening bringing back Brooks into my life publicly,” Gunvalson told Us Weekly when asked why she continued to film with Ayers after receiving backlash from her daughter’s confrontation with him. “[Bravo] basically put the gauntlet down and said, ‘If you don’t film with Brooks, then we are reducing your role.’ And I was like, ‘Oh no! You did not just say that!'”

In recent years, several housewives have been demoted, including Ramona Singer and Porsha Williams, but when it comes to Vicki Gunvalson, she’s not ready to end her run as the longest-running housewife of all the Real Housewives.

“I am not going to throw in the towel on the Housewife franchise,” she said, laughing, “I will be in a walker with my botox and my false eyelashes. I mean, at the end of the day, they’re going to have to kill me off!”

Last month, Vicki Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers sat down at their Orange County home, where Gunvalson confirmed she and her on-again, off-again boyfriend were once again “on,” and Ayers opened up about his battle with cancer.

“[Cancer] either will tear you apart as a couple or bring you together. And with us, without a doubt, it’s brought us together,” Ayers explained to Us Weekly in a separate interview. “So, yes, we are exclusive, we are dating, we are together,” Gunvalson confirmed. “It’s official.”

One person who likely wasn’t thrilled with the news of Gunvalson and Ayers’ rejuvenated relationship is Briana Culberson, Gunvalson’s daughter, whom openly feuded with Ayers on the last couple of seasons. “Briana and I, we’ve kind of agreed to disagree on this one subject,” Gunvalson said, admitting she hadn’t yet told her daughter that Ayers had moved in. “She doesn’t know Brooks is in, but I guess she will now!”

As the Inquisitr reported, Gunvalson claimed in the interview that her former friend, Tamra Barney, hadn’t reached out in the wake of Ayers’ cancer diagnosis. However, according to a second Inquisitr report, Gunvalson’s claim was a lie.

Vicki Gunvalson and The Real Housewives of Orange County are expected to return to Bravo next year for season 10.
