Amanda Peet and her husband gave birth to a healthy baby boy last night in Los Angeles while the city burned.

This is the third child for the 42 year-old Peet and her husband, Davie Benioff. According to Life and Style, Peet and Benioff have two other children, Frances (7) and Molly (4).

Born in New York City, Amanda Peet is an alum of Columbia University. She first popped up on television in 1995 in commercials for Skittles and Blistex.

Amanda Peet got her first big movie break in 1996 in the film, One Fine Day, in which she worked with George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer. Later that year, she co-starred in the romantic comedy She’s the One with Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz.

In 1999, Peet landed a starring role on the WB series, Jack and Jill, as Jacqueline Barrett. Jack and Jill ran for two years. Also that year, Amanda appeared on the eighth season of Seinfeld as one of Jerry’s girlfriends who is so active, Jerry decides he needs a relationship intern.

That same year, Amanda Peet was cast opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in the fantasy romantic comedy, Simply Irresistible.

Amanda really got noticed on the silver screen when she co-starred with Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry in The Whole Nine Yards. The film featured a nude scene for Peet, was favorably reviewed by critics, and made over $106 million worldwide. In 2000, Amanda was dubbed one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People.

For the next several years, Amanda Peet continued her steady climb in the film world. With appearances alongside such stars as Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton and Ben Affleck, and under the tutelage of such directors as Woody Allen, Amanda has enjoyed a healthy career.

In 2012, Amanda returned to television to take on the recurring role of Laura Hellinger in the critically acclaimed CBS drama, The Good Wife. She continues to act in plays and independent films.

In 2006, Amanda Peet married screenwriter, David Benioff. His screenwriting credits include Troy, The Kite Runner, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. However, along with D.B. Weiss, Benioff is probably best known as the executive producer, showrunner and writer for the fantasy mega hit, Game of Thrones.

Amanda Peet told reporters that pregnancy was going “great” for her only two months ago.

“I can’t complain. I mean, I’m tired but otherwise, I’m doing really well.”
