4 People Stabbed On Michigan Amtrak Train [Breaking]

Four people were stabbed Friday night on an Amtrak train in Niles, Michigan, by a man wielding a knife.

The Huffington Post reports that police confirmed the stabbing and note that a suspect is in custody. HuffPost says that the identities of the victims and their conditions are not yet known. However, a police dispatcher, who only identified herself as Nicole, said there were no fatalities.

The stabbing happened around 7 p.m. local time, WSBT reported. Amtrak has also acknowledged the incident, saying it happened on the 364 Train as it was at the Niles station on its way to Port Huron, Michigan. A statement from Amtrak acknowledged the incident, and said that Amtrak Police would assist in the investigation.

A number of witnesses on or near the 364 Train posted photos to Twitter of the incident. One photo shows a suspect in handcuffs laying on the floor of the Amtrak train. Another shows visible blood stains on the metal flooring of the train car. The witness who took the photo claims that one of the victims was a train conductor.
