French Toast Crunch Cereal Brought Back From The Dead

If you were a kid from the 90s, then you remember French Toast Crunch cereal. It was the best thing about breakfast (french toast, duh) minimized and crunchified for your sugar fix. Fast forward to the mid-millennium, and we bet you were depressed for days when you found out French Toast Crunch was discontinued.

Now General Mills announced that they’re bringing back French Toast Crunch, so get that Cinnamon Toast Crunch out of there because you’ve been blessed with the superior cereal — for now.

If you aren’t familiar with French Toast Crunch, it’s probably because you weren’t a huge lover of sugar or you completely skipped cereal in the 90s. They look like golden squares of cinnamon and sugary perfection. The cereal was produced in 1995 and was discontinued back in 2006 to the horror of many 20-somethings.

So why is General Mills bringing back French Toast Crunch? Well, according to the GM Marketing manager, it’s all due to an overwhelming demand of the cereal. Nineties kids rejoice — we brought back the best cereal we’ve been longing for.

According to GM Waylon Good, “We have been overwhelmed by the consumer conversations, requests and passion for the cereal to come back. We value our fans and are so excited to be able to bring it back for them.”

When can you get your hands on French Toast Crunch cereal? Sooner than you might think. General Mills plans to have the cereal back on shelves in January 2015.

If only Kellogs would get on board with bringing back Rice Krispies Treat. Now that would be something else.

As for French Toast Crunch social media is already blowing up about the news.

Obviously this news was going to breed one hater.

But then all was right with the world.
