Ice Cube Working on FX Revenge Series, ‘Eye For An Eye’

Rapper/Actor Ice Cube is reportedly developing his first television starring vehicle, a vigilante drama called Eye For an Eye, for FX.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cube, probably best remembered for his roles in Boyz N The Hood and Friday, is all set to star and executive produce the project whose plot centers around a veteran paramedic who gains a “thirst for revenge” after witnessing one too many victims of violent crime.

Teaming up with Ice Cube on the project are Cube Vision partner Matt Alvarez, as well as former ABC executive Josh Barry and Prospect Park’s Jeff Kwatinetz. Reports say a search is still underway for a writer to pen the script.

Besides Eye for An Eye, Cube, whose real name is O’Shea Jackson, also serves as an executive producer on the TBS sitcom Are We There Yet? that is based on his 2005 movie of the same name.

On the big screen, Ice Cube will next be seen in the feature film version of 21 Jump Street which stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum and is slated to hit theaters on March 16, 2012.
