‘Destiny’: Xur’s Location And Exotic Goods For Weekend Of December 5

This is the final week that Xûr, Agent of the Nine, visits the Tower in Destiny before the release of The Dark Below expansion. PlayStation and Xbox owners might want to hold off spending their Strange Coins on the Exotic armor and weapons due to the changes coming. There’s another new item you should probably buy instead.

Those looking for Xûr should head turn right and head toward the hangar after spawning at the Tower. Once you’ve gone through the long hallway and entered the hangar, turn right and you will see the seller of Exotics. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map, just to be sure.

Destiny - Xur Location - Hangar Corner

Xûr and his items will only be available through the morning of Sunday, November 9. He disappears again once the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT.

The Exotic armor and weapon available this week have all been sold by Xûr before. However, these items have not been sold as frequently as others. The major new addition is the addition of the Exotic Shard.

The Exotic Shard is needed to upgrade the final node of any Exotic item, but serves another purpose as well. As I wrote for Inquisitr yesterday, existing Exotic armor and weapons can be upgraded to the new light levels introduced with The Dark Below starting next week. The catch is that it resets the progress of the item completely. That is why players should hold off buying Exotic weapons or armor from Xûr until next week, when he begins offering the already upgraded items for sale. The flip side of that argument though is that there’s no telling when Xûr will be selling these items again. If you’re flush with Strange Coins or just need a boost now, it is probably not a big deal to pick something you don’t have.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Destiny Plan C Fusion Rifle (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360)

The Plan C is one of the better Fusion Rifles in the game due to its stability and quick charge time. It’s also one of only two Arc Fusion Rifles in the game, which makes it a no-brainer to grab for facing down Arc-shielded enemies or to use in Nightfall when Arc Burn is active. Its perks include bonus accuracy to hip fire, reduced charge time, and fast equip / charge time after swapping weapons.

Destiny Helm of Inmost Light (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Helm of Inmost Light is a Titan Striker specific helmet, and is really a must have for those focused on high damage output. The Invigoration perk reduces the melee cooldown when Orbs of Light are picked up while Rain Blows increases melee attack speed. The Recklessness perk is the headliner though as it adds Death from Above and Headstrong to Fist of Havoc.

Destiny Young Ahamkaras Spine (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Young Ahamkara’s Spin is a cool looking set of Gauntlets for the Hunter Gunslingers, but their main benefit is toward grenades. A high Discipline rating will help your grenades spawn faster while the Ashes to Asset perk will replenish Super energy faster when getting a kill with a grenade. There’s also the Improved Tripmine Grenade perk that will allow those grenades to hang around 30 seconds longer.

Destiny - Light Beyond Nemesis (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Lastly, the Light Beyond Nemesis helmet for the Warlock Sunsinger sub-class is possibly the closest to a medic there is in the game. The Keeper of the Pack upgrade perk allows you to revive teammates faster and vice versa. That extra time not spent reviving fallen teammates can be crucial during tight encounters.
