Victoria Pierro Saves Family Fire: Firefighter’s Daughter, 6, Saves Family From Fire

Victoria Pierro saved her family when a fire broke out in their Massachusetts home. According to the New York Daily News, the 6-year-old woke up in the middle of the night and noticed that the power had gone out. She smelled smoke, saw flames, and sprung into action, not thinking twice about it.

“She rushed to wake up her parents and found her mom Lori Pierro asleep in the living room. The mother grabbed the youngster and sprinted upstairs to alert her husband, Anthony, and sons Nicholas, 15, and Christian, 12. The family managed to leave through a back door of the 2-story home, just seconds before the blaze tore through its roof,” reports the New York Daily News.

Victoria Pierro saved her family from the fire by waking them up — they all escaped the home with just seconds to spare. Of course, brave little Victoria learned a good deal about fire safety from her dad, Anthony Pierros, who is on the Swampscott Fire Department. He likely never thought that guys from his department would be called to his house to put out a fire, however.

The Pierro family is thankful for Victoria and she is being called a hero. The family lost everything in the blaze including a vehicle and newly purchased Christmas gifts, but are thankful that they have each other and that no one was injured.

“We ran out with whatever we had, which was our pajamas. But we’re all safe, and we have family and friends. The rest can be replaced,” said mom Lori Pierro.

And as for little Victoria, well, her family is very thankful for her quick-thinking. And everyone is praising her bravery.

“She was outstanding. She did everything we talk about. She kept her head. She didn’t go hide,” said Swampscott fire chief Kevin Breen.

According to the Boston Herald, the fire is being investigated.

“The exact cause of the fire, which may have started in the garage, was undetermined but it is considered accidental,” said Breen, who credited Victoria with helping to save her family.

It is presumed that the Pierros are staying with family or friends. It’s unknown if their house will be considered a total loss.

Sometimes the least likely family member ends up saving the day unexpectedly. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a dog was credited with saving a family of six in East Point, Georgia, back in September. You can read about that story here.
