Toddler Donates Hair: Ariana Smith Cuts Hair, Donates It After Seeing Another Girl Without Hair

A toddler donates her hair after watching a video featuring a girl without hair. After seeing the girl, Ariana Smith, 3, got curious and asked her parents why the girl didn’t have hair, and then decided that she wanted to help.

“She asked why the little girl had no hair. We explained that she was sick and that the medicine they were using made her hair fall out. Without a second thought, Ariana said ‘Oh, well she can have some of my hair.’ She could be so selfless like that. Her first reaction is ‘How about I give up something that I have so a little girl can feel pretty,'” said Ariana’s dad, Josh Smith.

According to the Huffington Post, Ariana got her very first haircut after getting the idea to donate her hair so that someone else could have it. The before and after photos of Ariana’s haircut were posted on Imgur and have since gone viral.

The toddler donated her hair to Locks of Love on Nov. 21. According to the Herald Sun, the photos have received well over 500,000 views since they were first posted. Ariana seems simply overjoyed about cutting her long locks because she is really happy to be able to help someone else. As far as how the youngster likes her new ‘do, her dad says she’s glad to not have her hair fall in her food anymore. So really, this was a win-win.

Ariana’s dad says that his daughter is just a caring person in general, even if she is only 3.

“I think she’s just a caring person. She has a little play set of medical devices which she uses often. I’ve had my blood pressure and heart rate ‘checked’ hundreds of times this year,” he said.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there are a lot of selfless people in the world who go out of their way to help others. You can read about many of these stories online. The Charities Aid Foundation “provides a report called the World Giving Index, which looks at charitable behavior of people and businesses granting wishes around the world, involving 135 countries.”

Surely a toddler donating her hair would make that list, don’t you think? Many feel as though young Ariana is wise beyond her years. For a 3-year-old to even understand the concept is pretty remarkable. It won’t be surprising to hear if she donates her hair again in the future. Perhaps this will become a tradition for Ariana Smith.
