Christie Brinkley Gets Hit with $531k Tax Lien by IRS

Model/Actress Christie Brinkley, better known as “the girl in the red Ferrari” from National Lampoon’s Vacation, apparently owes the IRS a large sum of cash.

According to the NY Daily, Brinkley, 57, has just been hit with a federal tax bill totaling $531,720 for a property she owns on New York’s Long Island.

A spokeswoman for Brinkley says the star was shocked to hear the lien had been filed.

“Christie Brinkley was surprised to hear today that a tax lien had been filed, and has instructed her team to resolve the matter immediately,” Brinkley’s rep, Claire Mercuri, told the Daily.

Judging from a report by the UK Daily Mail however, Brinkley, who recently vowed never to wed again after four broken marriages, has an estimated worth of $80 million, which means the recent tax snafu shouldn’t be much of an issue.

Despite the IRS problems, it’s been a pretty good year for Brinkley.

In April, the former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model made her stage debut playing Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago, a role she recently reprised for the London’s West End theater.

However, according to Broadway.com, Brinkley was forced to postpone her gig because her mother was admitted to the hospital over the weekend to undergo emergency surgery.
