Venus Williams Nearly Flashes Crowd After Wardrobe Malfunction (Video)

Even though women’s tennis icon Venus Williams lost both her singles matches in Milan, Italy, this weekend, she still managed to top headlines due to an unfortunate tennis outfit mishap.

Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Chase first caught wind of the Venus wardrobe malfunction during an exhibition match against Italian player Flavia Pennetta on Dec. 4. Williams had to run off the court during the middle of her match against Flavia Pennetta after the left strap of Venus’ eleVen dress broke, nearly exposing the star’s breast. She quickly covered the nearly exposed area with her hand thus avoiding a full-on Janet Jackson moment.

Following the incident, Williams rushed into the locker room to fix her snapped strap and upon her return brought popcorn for Pennetta, who had been waiting patiently for Venus’ changeover.

As LarryBrownSports points out, even though the whole ordeal was taken and handled with good humor, if anyone is to be blamed for this wardrobe malfunction, it could be none other then Venus herself, as she designs her own sportswear.

Had Venus’ dress fully came apart, it wouldn’t be the first time the tennis star has turned heads by showing some skin on the court. In 2010 the Williams sister caused quite a stir with the controversial outfit she chose to wear during the French Open.
