West Virginia Shooting: Four Dead, Suspect Remains On The Loose

A West Virginia shooting spree has left four dead, multiple schools on lockdown, and sparked a massive police manhunt. A shooter reportedly opened fire at three different locations in the north-central region of the state earlier today. The suspect, Jody Hunt, is driving a black Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Jody Hunt allegedly opened fire twice in the town of Westover and once in Chat Lake on Monday morning. The West Virginia shooting suspect’s truck had a license plate that was either blacked out or unreadable for some reason. West Virginia State Police representative Lt. Michael Baylous said one of the Cheat Lake shooting victims was Sharon Kay Berkshire. Police officers found Sharon Kay Berkshire at Sunset Beach.

The 39-year-old woman was a resident of Westover.

“We ask that everyone stay vigilant and use their discretion about whether they should leave their homes,” Mike Wolfe, a West Virginia 911 director, advised the public.

David Frum, 28, of Maidsville, has also been identified as a victim in the West Virginia shooting. Frum was found at Sunset Beach along with Berkshire. Doug Brady, also of Westover, has now also been identified as a victim in the shooting spree. His body was found at his Westover-based business, Doug’s Towing.

“He is who we believe to be involved in the four fatalities at the three shootings,” West Virginia State Police Sergeant Jay Powers told ABC News.

The shooting spree suspect’s black Ford pickup truck reportedly has a bumper sticker on the back window which reads, “Rough County.” All three of the shooting locations were in Monongalia County.

Jody Hunt posted an update to Facebook that said he was having relationship problems, according to WAJR News.

“I poured out my heart to her only to be manipulated as to what I could give her. Life is short. It’s not all games. Don’t play a game with ones heart. My actions were not right nor were the actions of those who tried to tear me down and take from me. This was not the plan but a struggle to see that those who strives to hurt me received their fair pay of hurt like I received. You will not hurt me any more. You will not destroy my soul and heart as you tried so hard to do.”
