George Lucas: Here’s The New ‘Star Wars’ Trailer If He Did It Instead

George Lucas had a very different style of movie direction — especially when you compare his work to someone like J.J. Abrams. If George Lucas was still in the driver’s seat of the Star Wars franchise, this is how the first teaser trailer for the new Star Wars film would have looked.

Now, keep in mind that George Lucas is still the man credited with creating the Star Wars universe overall. Yes, it is true that George Lucas decided to sell Lucasfilm (and everything that it falls underneath that massive umbrella) for $4 billion to Disney. However, when it comes to Star Wars, there will probably never be a time when fans and critics do not think about George Lucas.

With that being said, it is true that George Lucas had a very distinct style that can easily be noticed. Even when you look at the two-minute teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you will notice almost immediately that George Lucas had nothing to do with it. Yes, it does still have a general look and feel of a George Lucas production — primarily because the entire foundation of the Star Wars universe was built by Lucas.

However, when you look at this viral video that shows the “George Lucas Special Edition” of the Star Wars trailer, you will be able to quickly identify exactly what was missing from the J.J. Abrams version.

Which trailer do you like better – the version that could have been created by George Lucas or the official version that was actually created by J.J. Abrams?
