A Cappella Group Takes YouTube By Storm With Christmas Songs That Will Give You Chills [Video]

An a cappella group, Pentatonix, recently released their holiday album for the 2014 season. When the album hit, it debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and after you watch this YouTube video of the group singing the classic Christmas tune “Mary, Did You Know?” you will understand why.

Pentatonix released their beautifully remade version of the song on November 11, 2014. As of today, the video has received over 13 million views. The viral video has been shared via social media and is being received well just in time for Christmas.

The music video itself is quite haunting, and features the group standing inside of what appears to be a cave. Each member of the group is holding a candle as they sing in perfect harmony.

The amazing thing about Pentatonix is the group’s ability to utilize specific talents to produce a sound that recreates various instruments. If you didn’t know it was a cappella, it would be hard to tell.

Pentatonix has numerous other Christmas songs that are being received with the same acclaim. Their “Silent Night” video was uploaded just five days ago, and has already received over 1.6 million views.

Pentatonix isn’t only good with Christmas tunes. Their highly successful fourth EP, PTX Vol. III, debuted in September at #5 on Billboard’s Top 200. The group released four music videos in support of the EP: “Problem,” “La La Latch,” “Papaoutai” ft. Lindsey Stirling, and “Rather Be,” which have been viewed over 29 million times.

What do you think of the Pentatonix version of “Mary, Did You Know?” Will it be included on your holiday playlist?
