Mama June And Sugar Bear Back Together?

The convicted sex offender is out and Sugar Bear is back in, or at least that’s what Mama June wants her remaining fans to believe. The former reality star-turned-social pariah told TMZ that her ex-boyfriend, Sugar Bear, is living in the house the family shared again. According to Mama June, she and Sugar Bear are “working on their relationship,” but she confessed that neither she nor Sugar Bear consider the relationship completely back on.

Mama June may have a lot to atone for in Sugar Bear’s eyes. Recall that in September, the couple had a very public break up just months after filming a commitment ceremony for their hit reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. While Sugar Bear was silent about the break up, Mama June told media outlets and fans that the split was Sugar Bear’s fault because he had a secret online dating profile.

That was the end of the story, until TLC suddenly cancelled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, after promising to leave the show on the air through the couple’s break up and struggle to raise Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, their daughter and star of the series. TMZ quickly revealed the reason for the split: Mama June was seeing a convicted sex offender, who had been convicted of molesting one of her daughters.

Despite photographic evidence acquired and posted by TMZ that showed Mama June and the sex offender together, she vehemently denied having even spoken to the man since he was imprisoned 10 years ago. Now Mama June tells a different story. In a recent interview, Mama June told TMZ that she is trying to work things out with Sugar Bear. June also admitted to seeing the sex offender, Mark McDaniel, but only on two occasions. Mama June says she has since broken off contact with him.

Of the entire event, June says, “I’m human, I made mistakes and done wrong, but no one is perfect.”

Has Mama June Shannon finally seen the error of her ways?

Maybe not. While Mama June is spinning Sugar Bear’s return to the house as a reunion, celebrity news blog Radar Online reports that it’s a condition of her keeping custody of Honey Boo Boo. According to Radar, there is an open investigation with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services, and it was social workers from that agency that suggested Sugar Bear return to the house, because they were uncomfortable with June being the only adult.

In a recent interview with Dr. Phil, June says that Mark McDaniel didn’t have a problem with molesting children before she met him in 2000. When Dr. Phil pressed Mama June, and asked if she really believed that Mark McDaniel had never molested a child until he met her and her children, June dodge the question by saying that she’s heard child molesters can molest again, “but I’ve also heard that child molesters can be rehabilitated.”

When asked about her daughter Anna Cardwell, the child McDaniel was convicted of sexually assaulting, Mama June said she knows Anna feels betrayed. but stopped just short of admitting guilt. Instead she said, “[Anna’s] told some lies too.”
