Brad Pitt May Soon Be Taking On ‘The Boss’ For New Movie

Rumors are circulating about Brad Pitt taking on the role of Bruce Springsteen in a biopic about the musician’s life, entitled The Boss. At this time, details about the biopic are vague, and management for both Pitt and the musician have declined to commit on the possible project. However, no one has dismissed the rumors either.

Pitt has shown considerable interest in playing Springsteen because of his admiration for the New Jersey musician. According to a report by Radar Online, Springsteen has had offers to film his story before that he has turned down, but since Brad Pitt is interested in doing the project, he is considering allowing the film to be made.

The report goes on to say that Pitt is in the process of pooling together resources in order to raise millions of dollars to finance the film. Pitt and Springsteen share similar values and work on many of the same causes. For instance, they both appeared on a 2010 telethon called “Hope for Haiti Now” that raised money for Haiti after the country experienced a devastating earthquake.

As the Music Times reported, this wouldn’t be the first film made about the rock legend. A biography called Bruce was released in 2012, and it could prove to be a valuable resource for Brad Pitt if his project goes forward. However, The Boss film isn’t a done deal, and Pitt has other films lined up, including one with his wife, Angelina Jolie.

The Inquisitr reported that Pitt and Jolie are filming By the Sea in Malta, which is based on a screenplay written by Jolie. The film is about a couple whose marriage is in trouble, so they go to Malta to try and work things out between them. According to Pitt’s IMDb page, By the Sea is slated to be released sometime in 2015.

Since The Boss is only being speculated about at this time, there isn’t any information about when it might start filming. Pitt may have to resort to following Springsteen around on concert to get all the information he needs to play the role of the iconic musician. Springsteen’s 18th studio album, High Hopes, was released back in January, and it quickly went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.
