The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Teaser Trailer Is Out!

The Game of Thrones Season 5 teaser trailer is out, and immediately you can see why they call it a “teaser trailer” — because all it does is tease.

As with all movie trailers (or in this case, TV trailers), there’s good news and bad news. We’ll start with the bad news: It’s only ten seconds long. But that’s why they call it a “teaser trailer.” The good news is that, if you’re a fan of Arya Stark, the trailer is all Arya.

The trailer contains something of a spoiler for Arya Stark’s story – that is, if you’re not through Season 4 yet. Otherwise, here’s the trailer.

That’s it. We get Arya showing off her swordplay skills, and a voiceover saying “I see a darkness in you,” which is the voice of the Priestess Melisandre, according to the Guardian. There are also fleeting references to The Sight and the Three-Eyed Raven, which CNET writer Anthony Domanico takes as “a foreshadowing of things to come.”

About that three-eyed raven: HBO has put together a website called Threeeyedraven, where you can sign up for updates from HBO via Twitter or SMS message, and get new Game of Thrones Season 5 tidbits – including, hopefully, some more substantive trailers – as HBO feels like releasing them. In fact, the teaser trailer you just watched was initially released only via GoT’s official Twitter feed.

As of this post, there is no official release date for Season 5 of Game of Thrones, but CNET says to expect it “sometime in the spring.”
