Kidnapper Sues Hostages Over Broken Promise

Jesse Dimmick took a couple hostage in Kansas and now he’s suing them after they fled from their home and alerted police about the situation. According to Dimmick the couple broke an oral contract when they promised to hide him from police in exchange for money.

The obviously unhinged criminal says the couple promised to keep him safe but after he fell asleep they snuck out of their home and called the police.

In his filing Dimmick writes:

“As a result of the plaintiffs breech (sic) of contract, I, the defendant suffered a gunshot to my back, which almost killed me. The hospital bills alone are in excess of $160,000, which I have no way to pay.”

Dimmick was shot when a City of Topeka officers gun went off and he quickly turned around and sued the city for $75,000. After learning about his court case the couple sued the criminal for $75,000 claiming emotional distress.

After the hostages case was file Dimmick filed a countersuit to the tune of $235,000, while stating in his lawsuit that he will represent himself “without the aid of proffesional (sic) legal counsel.”

This is one court case I’m almost certain will lead to a quick dismissal, after all a contract is only valid if the parties agreeing to the contract are not placed under duress. I’m pretty sure being held hostage is considered being under duress.
