Angelina Jolie Opens Up About Her Marriage To Brad Pitt: ‘I Want To Be A Better Wife’

We often look at celebrities as being different than the rest of us, but a recent interview with Angelina Jolie shows us that stars are just humans with problems just like the rest of us.

During a recent interview with Tom Brokaw, which aired Tuesday on the Today show, Jolie admitted that even though she has been with Brad Pitt for decade, the couple’s marriage changed after they married, reports the Huffington Post.

“It did change in just a feeling of that security and comfort that we always had but that recommitting after ten years of being together. And we were fortunate enough to be in that unusual situation where we got married with our children and they were a part of the ceremony and they wrote some of the vows. It was all of us agreeing to be together and to just commit to this life together. Not because we had to, not because anything was missing, it was because we were absolutely sure we felt that much of a family and it was that moment,” the 39-year-old actress shared.

The couples six children all played a role in the wedding; sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked Jolie down the aisle, daughters Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, were flower girls, and Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, served as the couples ring bearers.

Jolie said during the interview with Brokaw that she has set some goals for herself.

“We have more moments where I say, ‘I’m going to be a better wife.’ ‘I’m going to learn to cook.’ and [Brad] says, ‘Oh, honey, know what you’re good at.’… But I do like, ‘No, no, no, I’m going to get this wife thing down.’ He knows my limitations and where I’m a good wife and a good mom,” Jolie said.

Jolie and Pitt were married back in August. Soon after they headed to Matta to begin shooting By the Sea, a film Jolie is directing and both she and Pitt star in.

“Shooting By the Sea felt like the appropriate thing to do on our honeymoon. We wanted to try things; we wanted to push each other; we wanted to be artists and see what we could make,” Jolie added.

Jolie said that getting married also changed her mindset, reports Yahoo.

“I think we have more moments where I say, ‘I’m going to be a better wife. I’m going to learn to cook,’ and he says, ‘Oh honey, know what you’re good at, know what you’re not,'” the 39-year-old mother of six added. “But I do have my, ‘No, no, no I’m going to get this wife thing down,’ but he knows my limitations and where I’m a good wife and a good mom.”

Jolie and Pitt met in 2004 when they filmed the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. They will share the big screen again By the Sea.
