Two FBI Agents Shot Near Riot-Ravaged Ferguson

Two FBI agents have been shot after attending a siege at a home near the scenes of the Ferguson riots.

Early this morning, the FBI agents rushed to investigate reports of an unidentified person who had barricaded themselves inside a house in St. Louis.

The FBI agents attended the house situated on the intersection of North Hanley Road and Monroe Avenue, and were shot at and injured by gunfire at 3:15 a.m. The exact condition of the two agents isn’t yet known, but Officer Shawn McGuire has revealed that the FBI agents have suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police are looking into the possibility that this could be related to an incident Monday night in University City, where a police officer was shot in his chest.

According to Fox News reporter John Pertzborn, the suspect in the shooting is a 33-year-old man called Major Washington. It is not known if the shootings of the two FBI agents are connected to the Ferguson riots taking place a few miles away.

USA Today reports that there is a heavy police presence around Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Police blocked off both directions of Kingshighway near the hospital to let an ambulance through. An FBI truck is also at the scene, but hospital officials will not confirm if the agents are there.

News of the two injured FBI agents comes after a second night of rioting. The grand jury decision not to indict officer Daren Wilson for shooting Michael Brown has led to two nights of rioting and violence in Ferguson as dozens more protestors were arrested last night.

Following the destructive scenes of Monday night, Missouri’s governor deployed a total of 2,2000 National Guardsman to deal with the Ferguson riots.

The tactic appeared to anger the demonstrators even more, as thousands convened in a scene which quickly turned ugly.

The total number of arrests is now nearing 100. Angry protestors have smashed the widows of a police car and set it alight as they cheered and shouted, “F*** the police!” Police responded by flooding the area with dozens of cops in riot gear and firing tear gas and smoke gas.

In an interview with ABC St. Louis before the grand jury verdict came back, Sabrina Webb said, “We’re going to continue to protest in the most peaceful way can. Either way we’re gonna get justice until something does get done.”
