Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo Tear Gassed In Ferguson Riots — But That’s Not The Only Lemon Clip Going Viral [Video]
CNN’s anchors didn’t have the best luck avoiding the crossfire in Ferguson’s riots Monday night. At least two reporters — Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo — were forced to flee tear gas being deployed by police. Don later returned in a gas mask to explain the situation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“The police officer threw tear gas into the crowd. Some of it got us. We tried to get to another location. We heard gunshots nearby.”
Unfortunately for Lemon, this wasn’t his only dramatic moment of the evening. One disgruntled protester interrupted Don’s coverage with a simple, “F**k you, CNN!”
Of course, Lemon’s tear gas attack and surprise “f**k you, CNN” weren’t his only viral moments of the night. Gawker blasted the following video where Don says there’s “obviously” a scent of marijuana in the air at the Ferguson riots.
“How long you think it took for Don Lemon to say something infuriatingly dumb and insensitive on this rotten night? If you guessed less than a minute after Anderson Cooper threw to him, you guessed right.”
Twitter users were also outraged over Don Lemon’s description of the smells of the Ferguson riots. Many of the angry responses seem to go beyond Don’s odd statement about the pot-peppered atmosphere around the riots — Lemon was also in the headlines last week for telling one of Bill Cosby’s rape accusers that she should have bit Bill’s penis to prevent the rape. Whether or not the former incident was involved in all of the tweets, there are a great many who aren’t happy with Lemon’s reporting.
