Top Ten 2014 Black Friday Freebies: Get Something Free Just For Standing In Line


Headed out to the Black Friday sales later this week? Plan ahead and you could take home a few freebies including free gift cards, pet stockings, touch screen gloves, a free folding chair, a power washer (yes!) and other goodies that may be worth lining up for.

Keep in mind that each store has limited quantities of the freebies, and you will need to be in line early for a chance to get something for nothing. Plan your Black Friday shopping route and see if you can squeeze in a stop to these stores and pick up something for free while you’re out spending your hard earned money.

Cabela’s has some big-ticket freebies available on Black Friday, but you will have to one of the first 600 people in line by 5 am. More than $10,000 worth of free stuff is up for grabs including gift cards, riflescopes, and a power washer.

Retail Me Not reports that Radio Shack will be giving away free touchscreen gloves to the first 100 people who come into their stores on Black Friday. Most stores are open on Thanksgiving from 8 am – 12 noon and again from 5 pm – midnight. Stores re-open at 6 am on Friday. Radio Shack’s ad does not specify which day the free gloves will be available, so you may want to call ahead if you really, really want these.

Pet Smart will be giving away free pet stockings filled with treats, and a scratch card that may be reveal a $100 gift card. This freebie is available to the first 100 people who come into the store. Most locations open at 7 am on Friday, November 28.

Nerd Wallet states that Gold’s Gym is offering a free workout on November 28 during their “Trim the Fat” event. Not only can you work off some of the turkey you ate on Thanksgiving, you can talk to fitness and nutrition experts while you’re sweating on the treadmill.

JCPenney won’t be giving out free Disney snow globes for the first time in years. The retailer is changing things up and giving away coupons worth $100 off a purchase of $100 or more to one in every 100 people while supplies last, in addition to some other freebie coupons. In other words, you could get $100 in free merchandise if you’re lucky enough to be in line at the right time.

If the Sports Authority is on your Black Friday list, stop in early for a freebie and a chance to win a gift card. Most locations will open at 6 pm on Thanksgiving. Be one of the first 50 people in line at that time, and you’ll score a free Sports Authority logo folding chair. On both Thursday and Friday, the first 80 people will have a chance to win up to $500 in bonus cash to use towards a purchase.

Half Price Books is giving away free tote bag with a free $5 gift card inside to the first 100 people in line on Black Friday. Spend Less Shop More reports that one of the tote bags will have a $100 gift card inside. Expect lines to form early ahead of the 7 am opening time.

Starting at 6 pm on Thanksgiving, Belk is giving away $1 million worth of gift cards to the first 250 people in line. A $5 card is guaranteed and there will be one $1,000 winner at each location.

If you have a Bon-Ton store in your area, be one of the first 250 customers in line on Black Friday and you will get a free gift card worth anywhere from $5 to $250.

Deal News reports that Costco members will get a free cookbook, Fabulous Food, The Costco Way, on Black Friday. If you spent all day making Thanksgiving dinner, cooking is probably the last thing on your mind, but the cookbook is free. Wrap it up and regift it.
