Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Share Their Thanksgiving Plans

This year, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are not hosting Thanksgiving. Instead, the two are making it a real family affair by walking down the block to Matt Damon’s house for a large Thanksgiving gathering.

Affleck and Garner were on hand at the Save the Children Illumination Gala in New York City, and talked about their plans for the holiday.

Affleck, who was being honored by the foundation for his work, was side by side with wife and actress Jennifer Garner. The couple didn’t shy away from discussing their family life.

“My mother is staying with us now and we’ll all go down the street to Matt Damon’s house,” Affleck said. “We’re all invited. Matt and my family are all like one big extended family for Thanksgiving. I’m looking forward to it a lot.”

For the Afflecks, this will be the first time they spend Thanksgiving with Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barrosa. Garner dished on what the holiday is usually like at the Affleck household.

“This year we’re going to Matt’s house, but usually I cook and Casey and his family come over. This year Casey is going to be in Boston and we’ll be home.”

Garner, who once made a Thanksgiving dinner with Martha Stewart, isn’t letting her skills in the kitchen go to waste. She dished to Us Weekly that she will get some cooking done even though she’s not hosting it.

“I’ll still cook some stuff. Ben and the kids want me to take my grandmother’s sweet potato pudding so I’ll make that.”

As for Ben? He’s not going near the kitchen.

“I’ll bring some wine for sure — wine will be flowing — but I’ll be focused on the turkey. I know I’ll be eating a lot of turkey at Matt’s house.”

This is likely the first time Matt and Ben have spent the holiday season in Los Angeles together with their families. For years, Damon lived in New York with his wife Luciana and their children, Isabella, 8, Gia, 6, and Stella, 4. The reason they relocated to Los Angeles, was partly so he could be closer to his buddy and business partner Ben Affleck.

“Basically all of our friends with little kids are out there,” said Damon.

Affleck and Garner have three children, Violet, 8, Seraphina, 5, and Samuel, 2.

Other than sharing some turkey, on the business side of things, Matt and Ben are gearing up to relaunch their reality film series Project Greenlight to find the best untapped director. They also have a Fox comedy coming along as well.
