Virtual Cersei Still Evil In Telltale’s ‘Game Of Thrones’ Trailer

Cersei Lannister is the epitome of conniving and scheming in HBO’s Game of Thrones television series. Actress Lena Heady lends her voice to the role in the debut trailer for Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series. The upcoming title for PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as the PC and iOS platforms is almost here, and this trailer sets up the main antagonists and central characters from the TV show.

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series will feature six episodes released over the coming months. They tell the tale (see what I did there) of House Forrester, a minor noble house who has pledged loyalty to House Stark. Since this takes place at the end of Season 3 of HBO’s series, House Stark is in ruins and all those loyal to them are considered traitors.

House Forrester is part of the lore of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire literary universe, but has not been mentioned in either the books or the Game of Thrones TV show. This allows Telltale plenty of room to maneuver, but still bring in some familiar faces.

“While players will control five members of House Forrester in their story, the series will have them interacting with fan favorite characters throughout the season, including Tyrion Lannister performed by Peter Dinklage, Cersei Lannister performed by Lena Heady, Margaery Tyrell performed by Natalie Dormer, and Ramsay Snow performed by Iwan Rheon,” Telltale announced in a press release. “Additional cast members will appear in later episodes.”

The trailer confirms that the recently leaked images for Game of Thrones that revealed Telltale’s stylistic take on the characters and setting. Cersei, Tyrion, and Margery can all be seen. In The Walking Dead, Telltale combined taut story-telling with a choice and consequence game system that earned it several awards. The developer is expanding the concept to span five different players located in different parts of Westeros and Essos. The decisions made by each of these characters from House Forrester will affect each other. The real question is whether knowledge of characters like Cersei, Tyrion, and Ramsay will give the TV show watchers a leg up when progressing through the story. The developer even engaged in a scavenger hunt of sorts by giving various media outlets exclusive details 13 different characters from Game of Thrones.

The premier episode is titled Iron From Ice, and details about it are coming soon, according to Telltale. It looks like it will be released to the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, and iOS in the first couple of weeks of December.
