Last month, Tameka “Tiny” Harris made headlines when she revealed she’d had surgery to permanently change the color of her eyes through Brightocular in South Africa. Of course, she was scrutinized for undergoing the controversial and possibly dangerous procedure, which is illegal in the United States. Now, it appears her daughter may have opted to have the procedure done, reports EnStarz.

On Nov. 16, Zonnique took to Instagram with a questionable post that left many fans wondering if she has decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and change her eye color as well. The picture shows the 18-year-old OMG Girlz star with ice-gray colored eyes. She captioned the picture, “Surround yourself with friends that will constantly help you slay….. ” However, she didn’t offer any details about whether or not she was wearing contacts. The picture immediately caught the attention of fans and now has more than 78,000 likes.

Tiny also posted a similar picture of her daughter on the same day, but didn’t share any details either. Tiny’s post garnered another 54,000 likes. However, many fans weren’t exactly thrilled about the questionable procedure. The Family Hustle star shared details about the procedure on Good Morning America.

“They go into the eye and they make a little slit,” she explained. “They take an implant and it’s folded up. They open it [and] spread it over your eye. They told me that the procedure was going to be quick, five to 10 minutes an eye,” she said. “They woke me up. It was very blurry, then it kind of fades in. I looked into the mirror and I was like, ‘They are amazing,'” she said. “I love them.”

Although she spoke candidly about the procedure to ensure fans she’s doing fine, the details may have made the backlash a bit worse.

Now fans are sharing their opinion of Zonnique’s new look. Of course, some fans are in favor of the alleged new look and others think the idea of having the procedure is completely outlandish and too much of a risk.

Dr. James C. Tsai, president of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai also shared a number of problem that can develop from having this type of procedure done, reports ABC News. “These risks can be sight-threatening and can include glaucoma, cataract and corneal problems,” he said.
