‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Trailer Has Arrived [Video]

As we were promised, the Pitch Perfect 2 trailer dropped earlier today, and it’s as awesome as you would expect it to be. For the sequel, it looks like the girls are leaving college, but that doesn’t mean the Bellas are hanging up their outfits just yet. They still have a huge world championship to take home.

Pitch Perfect 2 stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Adam Devine, and Alex Knapp. Newcomers include Katey Sagal, and Hailee Steinfeld.

Pitch Perfect 2’s trailer looks like it’s bringing all the familiar gags and witty one-liners thanks to the return of the film’s breakout star, Rebel Wilson. This time around, it looks like her character’s love-hate relationship with Bumper Allen will only intensify.

As for songs to expect, the surprise hit “Cups” which appeared in the original movie will return, and this time, all of the girls join in for a special rendition.

Hailee Steinfeld appeared on the Today show to talk about how she felt fitting into the Pitch Perfect world.

“Getting off a plane and walking into this world that was already established… was very intimidating but they were very welcoming and very supportive and I can’t, I can’t express how excited I am to be a part of it.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the film’s producer Elizabeth Banks has stepped behind the camera to direct the sequel. As the trailer shows, she also returns as the hilarious commentator Gail Abernathy-McKadden.

Banks opened up to Entertainment Weekly about the bright idea of making her directorial debut with an already established film.

“This is the stupidest idea I’ve ever had. My first movie is this huge studio movie that a lot of people care about that also happens to be a musical with massive dance numbers. I don’t know what I was thinking.”

She continued, “The first film flew under the radar, and it was a gift. This time around, much higher stakes. Everybody is much more involved. As the saying goes, ‘Success has many fathers.'”
