Leah Messer News: Will ‘Teen Mom 2’ Go On Without Her?

Teen Mom 2 introduced fans to Leah Messer, Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Jenelle Evans. The show lasted for five seasons, more than even the original Teen Mom series. While the original series is set to bring back the original girls for an all-new season early next year, fans are still not sure whether or not MTV is going to go through with a sixth season of TM2.

Initially, Leah Messer, Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Jenelle Evans signed five-year contracts. That means MTV had to extend the fifth season of the show into two parts in order to get more episodes without having to sign new contracts. It is rumored that the network wants to bring back the girls for a sixth season, but it seems that Leah Messer may not be on board.

Multiple reports have suggested that Leah Messer is holding out signing a new Teen Mom 2 contract. If reports are correct, Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Jenelle Evans are all on board with sharing their lives with fans for at least another season. Leah Messer, however, seems to be holding out on signing on the dotted line. Without Leah Messer, will the show go on for another season? According to a November 19 report from the Ashley, MTV is set to go ahead with a sixth season of the show with or without Leah Messer.

While there is no doubt MTV would want to include Leah Messer and her twins on Teen Mom 2, it makes sense that they would be willing to film without her. The new season of Teen Mom will go on with only three cast members, which was an initial surprise to some fans. Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, and Amber Portwood will all be coming back after a hiatus from the reality television show, but Farrah Abraham will not be joining them. It has been suggested that Farrah Abraham was not asked back to the show due to the choices she made following her stint on Teen Mom, choices which not everyone (including her former cast mates) agreed with. In Leah Messer’s case, however, it appears that she has been asked back for a sixth season but she is the one who isn’t sure about signing another contract.

Furthering speculation was a tweet that Leah Messer shared on her Twitter on November 17 which read, “Everyone keep me in your thoughts and prayers today! #Nervous #BigDecisions.”

Obviously, there isn’t any confirmation that Leah’s tweet had anything to do with a decision regarding Teen Mom 2, but the timing does seem questionable. Having shared her life with fans first on 16 and Pregnant and later on Teen Mom 2 for the past five years, it makes sense that Leah Messer would want a break from a public lifestyle. Of course, having gained a massive fan base thanks to her reality show career, fans will always be interested in Leah and her life, whether or not she is sharing it with the world.

Right now, Leah is encountering some drama with her husband, Jeremy Calvert. There have been rumors of divorce floating around after allegations of infidelity on Leah’s part surfaced. Obviously, this would be a juicy storyline for Teen Mom 2, but after having endured a similar storyline in an earlier season of Teen Mom 2, it makes sense why Leah Messer would not want to relive that again. After admitting that she cheated on her first husband prior to their wedding, Leah was criticized and endured a lot of online drama from fans of the show. If she were to go forth with another season of Teen Mom 2, it seems she would be setting herself up for more criticism.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, those close to Leah Messer have reportedly urged her to go to rehab for her issues. However, Leah Messer was urged by another Teen Mom star not to go to rehab.
