The latest Days of Our Lives spoilers are good news for fans who have missed Eileen Davidson and her iconic character, Kristen DiMera.
The 55-year-old actress portrayed DiMera for a total of six years spanning the mid 1990s, most recently in 2012 and 2013. She left the show last year, but now has been confirmed to be returning for a 12-week run.
It’s not quite clear yet what role Kristen DiMera will play or what story lines she may be involved in. When viewers last saw DiMera her fate was unknown, with doctors preparing her for an unknown procedure.
Fans are already getting a sneak peek at Davidson’s return, with Access Hollywood sharing pictures of her return to the set.
Davidson earned a number of honors for her portrayal of DiMera, including a Daytime Emmy Award this year 2014. She has been busy outside of her return to Days of Our Lives; she is also a new cast member on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, joining this season along with Lisa Rinna.
Despite many years in front of television cameras, Davidson said filming RHOBH was “nerve wrecking” and a big change from scripted drama.
“It’s so surreal,” Davidson said. “But also very exciting and a little nerve wracking. I’m used to scripts when I’m being filmed so this has been a new experience! It’s like being on a roller coaster, and you can all take the ride with me!”
But Davidson appears to be fitting right in. The New York Post reported that Davidson will be in the middle of some drama with other housewives on the show.
Eileen Davidson won’t be the only one returning to Days of Our Lives. Actress Molly Burnett will return later this week as Melanie Jonas.
Days of Our Lives viewers who want to see the return of Eileen Davidson will have to wait until 2015, when Kristen DiMera comes back to Salem.
