‘Drunk Girl In Public’ Star Hoax: Actress Apologizes After Backlash, Being Duped [Video]
Jennifo Box is the star of the “Drunk Girl in Public” video that hit the internet weeks ago. The footage, which has since gone viral on social media and YouTube, incited rage from the public that saw men trying to pick up the impaired young woman. Lo and behold, Box has come forward and slammed the filmmakers for tricking her into thinking the video of a drunken girl in public would not be passed off as real. She is now apologizing for the hoax and to anyone offended by the video’s characterization of men, according to a USA Today report.

The hoax video about a drunk girl walking around in public comes on the heels of the infamous Hollaback cat-calling street harassment video that starred a female actress walking around the city and having passes made at her as she sauntered by men on the sidewalk. Unlike Box’s video, the men in the previous footage were not aware they were being filmed.
Three actors involved in the drunk girl hoax also spoke out against the producers. They both agreed they were duped into thinking the production was merely a skit. Additionally, the fake creeps in the scenes were led to believe it would not be depicted as real-life footage of men trying to take advantage of a seemingly intoxicated girl in public.
Box confirmed the statements by the men actors and said she honestly believed things were on the up and up. The duped star said the group behind the creation of the video described it as a “light-hearted prank video” when they tapped her to star in the project.
“I was hired as an actress to portray a drunk girl in what was described to me as a lighthearted prank show. Had I known the damaging outcome of this video, I never would have participated. And for the record, every male seen in this video were nothing but perfect gentleman.”
