Mama June Almost Lost Custody: CPS Allows Children To Stay Because Of Sugar Bear?

Mama June almost lost custody of her youngest daughter, Alana Thompson (a.k.a. Honey Boo Boo), but Sugar Bear apparently saved the day. According to Radar Online, Child Protective Services (CPS) conducted an investigation after June Shannon started bringing a registered sex offender around her kids. However, June took the department’s suggestion of having Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson move back into the home, and CPS was apparently comfortable with the situation after that.

“Social workers weren’t comfortable with only one adult supervising the three minor children, Honey Boo Boo, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon, 14, and Jessica ‘Chubbs,’ 17. Alana has missed having her daddy in the house, and it was suggested by the department that he move back into the house, while the investigation was still ongoing. Sugar Bear agreed to do it, but wasn’t happy about it.”

Mama June may or may not be using Sugar Bear to ensure that she doesn’t lose custody of her children, but that doesn’t mean that the two are getting along. Since they announced their split, things have been tense. It seems clear that Thompson doesn’t approve of Shannon’s new love interest, Mark McDaniel, and sources say he is not falling for the charade that Shannon wants the media to believe. The media, including Radar Online, doesn’t seem to believe it either.

“Sugar Bear and Mama June can’t even be in the same room together at the small house. He doesn’t believe her constant denials in the media that she only saw Mark McDaniel twice. He is only staying in the house so the girls don’t get taken away from June. Sugar Bear is being used as a pawn, and he knows it. It’s a sad situation.”

Mama June claims that she had no idea that McDaniel was a child molester because when she first met him back in 2000, he’d never been arrested for such conduct. According to TMZ, June Shannon’s interview with Dr. Phil is being criticized because she actually defended McDaniel — the man who went to jail for molesting her daughter!

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, June Shannon hasn’t really been making herself look better in any way in any of the interviews she has been doing. In fact, she recently revealed that she lost her virginity at age 12, and had a habit of dating much older men when she was younger. People seem fed up with Shannon, and many wish that she’d just go away. Although TLC canceled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, the family is getting more attention now than ever before.
