MotorStorm RC announced for PSN and PS Vita

Sony announced a new addition to the MotorStorm franchise today, but it may not exactly be what you would expect from the MotorStorm name.

The PlayStation Blog was updated earlier today with an announcement for MotorStorm RC, a downloadable entry in the MotorStorm franchise under development by Evolution Studios for both the PlayStation Network and the PlayStation Vita. The developers are targeting a Spring 2012 release.

As you may have guessed from the game’s title, MotorStorm RC takes MotorStorm‘s signature racing and makes it considerably smaller – and radio-controlled. You’ll be able to race around 16 “unique” tracks set in four different worlds with eight vehicle classes.

Interestingly, both versions of the game will be identical to one another, and you’ll even be able to share your saves between the two. Even better, you won’t have to pay for both versions – once you pay for one, you can play both.
