Woman Bed Dead Mother: Daugther Shared Bed With Mom’s Corpse For Five Years

A German woman slept in the same bed with her dead mother for five years. Social workers in Munich were called after neighbors reported not seeing the elderly woman in public for a while, according to the Daily Mail. After a forced entry, police found the mummified remains of the woman’s mom. No foul play was reported but the woman was ordered to a psychiatric evaluation for sleeping with her mother’s corpse.

On Thursday, police were called to a residence to investigate the whereabouts of an 83-year-old woman who dropped out of sight, which left neighbors concerned about her welfare and safety. The social worker arrived at the Blumenau residence after the building manager called, but they were not able to gain access to the home.

The woman’s daughter, 55, answered the door but wouldn’t allow anyone in. Police and firemen were called and smashed the door in and discovered the woman’s dead mother in her bed. During questioning, the daughter admitted to sharing her bed with the corpse for five years. An investigation revealed the elderly woman died in 2009, apparently from natural causes.

This disturbing case comes on the heels of a similar incident earlier this year. As the Inquisitr reported, a woman dubbed a real life “Psycho,” allegedly ate and slept at home with her dead mother for three years.

Then 28-year-old Chava Stirn, a Brooklyn resident, was taken into custody after her dead mother was found in the kitchen propped up on trash bags. The woman would pull up a chair next to Susie Rosenthal, 61 at the time, when it was time to bed down for the night.

“Neighbors didn’t smell anything suspicious until the super of the building tried to investigate a leak coming from the apartment on Monday afternoon, police sources said. Stirn refused to open her door, so emergency workers knocked it down — and found her in a chair, looking disheveled, surrounded by waist-high piles of trash, police sources said.

“Stirn, who lived with her mom before her death, never left the home, neighbors said. She refused to let anyone inside the apartment, so a relative would sometimes leave food outside her door, the police sources said. Neighbors often heard strange noises coming from the apartment.”

Both disturbing cases of women sleeping in bed with their dead mothers or keeping their corpse in the home for years draw comparisons to the 1960 horror flick Psycho. The movie starred Anthony Perkins, who played the character Norman Bates.
