‘WWE 2K15’ Is Missing Quite A Few Modes Compared To Previous Versions

WWE 2K15 fans had been anxiously awaiting the release of this year’s wrestling game. While there is plenty to like about the game, it appears that the 2K15 version of the WWE series has come up a bit short when it comes to the features being offered. In fact, if you go by one user from NeoGaf, there is quite a bit missing in this year’s WWE game.

2K15 was supposed to be the crowning achievement since it had an entire year to get ready to put its product out on the next generation systems, PS4 and Xbox One. Perhaps the game makers simply had too much time with this year’s WWE 2K15. Perhaps there were still some things that were left out because they haven’t been able to figure out how to get everything into the game and still have the stellar graphics the game boasts. Whatever the reason, there are some rather glaring features and modes left out of WWE 2K15.

Creation modes for this year’s WWE 2K15 title are lacking in a number of different ways. There is no “Create a Diva,” “Create a Title,” “Create a Finisher,” or “Create an Arena.” 2K15 also left out custom themes and severely cut down on the custom entrances for each wrestler. When it comes to the actual match modes that were completely left out of WWE 2K15, there is something from almost any offering the game has. “In 1 vs 1, Ladder,” “I Quit,” “2 out of 3 Falls,” and “Backstage Brawl” are gone.

Other modes such as “Special Referee,” “3 Stages of Hell” and “Casket” are only available in the Showcase Mode for 2K15 when they were available more readily in WWE 2K14. Other modes including “2 vs 2,” “Triple Threat,” “Fatal 4 Way/4-Man,” and “6-Man” are all quite scaled down from what the game had in the previous year or years, in some cases. One mode, “Handicap Matches,” is gone entirely and none of the modes taken out of the game have had much explanation from the studio as to why they were taken out.

While the game might sound like it got the barebones treatment, there are new modes in this version that haven’t been featured before. “MyCareer” has taken center stage for the PS4 and Xbox One versions while the PS3 and Xbox 360 copies have a feature called “Who Got NXT.” This mode will allow you to go up against NXT superstars. Whether or not these additions are going to be enough to keep WWE 2K15 gamers happy is anyone’s guess, though prevailing wisdom says no.
