Dr. Phil: Mama June ‘Unwilling To Tell The Truth,’ ‘Making Really Bad Choices’

Dr. Phil decided to give his own opinion about Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Mama June after having the chance to interview her one-on-one for his show.

In a brief interview with Harvey Levin from TMZ Live, Dr. Phil was asked if Mama June explained why she would have any contact with a guy that molested her daughter.

According to Dr. Phil’s initial response to that question, he felt that Mama June was not trying to be honest at all.

“She rambled around, jumped all over the place. But, she was not forthcoming in the beginning at all.”

The 64-year-old television personality went on to say that he did not hold anything back when it came to letting Mama June that he simply do not believe what she was saying. Dr. Phil claims that he even tried to offer her a few words of wisdom to help understand the need to be honest about the situation.

“I told her that I did not believe what she had to say and I told her straight up, ‘Look, it’s the cover-up not the crime that always creates the problem’ but she just simply is unwilling to tell the truth. I think sometimes a non-credible denial is more incriminating than a modified mea culpa, but she doesn’t get that.”

Note: For the readers that are not quite sure what a “mea culpa” means, it is defined as “an acknowledgment of one’s fault or error.”

During his interview with Mama June, Dr. Phil claims that he was even able to dig a little deeper beneath the surface — especially when it came to her history of relationships.

Based on his findings, Dr. Phil identified a consistent pattern that Mama June seems to follow when it comes to her love life that reportedly started long before she became famous.

“I went over her relationship pattern with her. She’s been involved with four men that we know of… All four of them have been to jail or prison. Two of them for sexual molestation. One of them is now in until 2026. So, I mean she’s picking men [that] are not exactly great citizens… This is not something that just popped up of late. This didn’t come with stardom. I think this woman has been making really bad choices with these children and the men in her life for a long, long time. This is nothing new.”
