Kendall Jenner Flat Out Denies Justin Bieber ‘Dating’ Lies, Which Raises Other Questions

Kendall Jenner has shut down fabricated claims that she is dating Justin Bieber, and is the cause of his recent breakup with Selena Gomez.

Speaking to ABC News’ Juju Chang on Nightline, the 19-year-old, who is the new “face” of beauty giant Estée Lauder, set the record straight about the falsehood that was first trotted out by In Touch Weekly, then repeated almost continuously by Hollywood Life and multiple click bait-centric media outlets.

“He’s a longtime friend of our family,” Kendall said of 20-year-old Bieber and those dating rumors.

The supermodel continued, “Everybody loves to assume things, but no.”

Not stopping there, Kendall clarified that she is not in fact seeing anyone.

“I’m not,” she replied, when the relationship question came, adding, “I’m truly focusing on my career. If it comes it comes.”

It’s a wise answer, considering the brunette has just landed a major endorsement deal and spent the last season walking for the hottest and biggest fashion names in Paris, London, New York and Milan.

Rumors that Justin and Kendall were dating kicked off when the “Confident” superstar took the model out to dinner in Paris during his fashion week trip with Selena in September.

Despite their highly public meeting — in fact, paparazzi filmed Bieber collecting Kendall in a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce — In Touch Weekly was the first to insist it was a “secret date” that took place behind Selena’s back, despite half of Paris and the Internet watching it happen in real time.

A fellow diner subsequently posted a snippet video of the famous friends’ meal at the Paris restaurant. Far from being a romantic rendezvous, in the clip it came across as a platonic get-together.

Since Paris, Selena and Justin split up for reasons that aren’t publicly known. The 22-year-old released a gut-wrenching music video for her single “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” and during a candid post-premiere interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest, she also set the record straight about Kendall.

“We were never not friends,” Selena told Seacrest on November 6.

The two girls were recently seen hugging at one of Jenner’s 19th birthday celebrations not long before.

The actress-singer added that she made a decision to only follow fans on Instagram and “didn’t realize it [her unfollow of the Jenner sisters] after a Coachella hang in April “would start so much stuff.”

Meanwhile, Justin and Kendall were seen giggling over coffee cups in an Instagram video that he posted some time before unfollowing his ex-girlfriend on Instagram on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses also saw the heartthrob, Kendall and mutual pal Hailey Baldwin attending a Hillsong NYC Church service on Sunday, November 9.

During her interview, Vogue’s “model of the moment” also said she wanted to be someone young people can look up to, also addressing critics’ views that her ascent in fashion hasn’t been earned.

“In reality, I worked pretty hard for this, like running around doing tests,” Kendall counters. “It wasn’t just like I got it magically [snaps fingers] and it just happened.”

She went on, “I want to be the best role model I can be to a little girl, or to a little boy — to anybody.”

So, to recap: Bieber never was and isn’t now dating Jenner. And those questions?

What’s the real reason for Bieber and Gomez’s breakup since it wasn’t Jenner?

More importantly, when will the entertainment news cycle stop reporting baseless rubbish that embarrasses journalism?
