Bill Cosby’s Attorney Claims Rape Allegations Are ‘Decades Old And Discredited’

Bill Cosby’s ongoing silence regarding numerous rape allegations made against him, which have surfaced recently, has left a lot of people speculating as to the real validity of the claims.

Just last week, another alleged Cosby victim came out the woodwork, claiming that she had been taken advantage of by The Cosby Show daddy when she was 19.

The alleged victim, Joan Tarshis, wrote in an essay on the Hollywood Elsewhere website, that she was a budding young actress at the time when she met Bill Cosby, over 45 years ago. At that time, she claims, Cosby assaulted her in 1969 at his bungalow at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

According to Tarshis, in the fall of that year, Cosby asked her to work on some materiel with him, having made her a “redeye,” a mix of a Bloody Mary and beer.

Tarshis, who is now a journalist wrote, “The next thing I remember was coming to on his couch while being undressed. Through the haze I thought I was being clever when I told him I had an infection and he would catch it and his wife would know he had sex with someone. But he just found another orifice to use. I was sickened by what was happening to me and shocked that this man I had idolized was now raping me. Of course I told no one.”

Tarshis’ story is interesting, though, as some days after that incident, she admitted that she accepted an invitation to attend a performance Bill Cosby gave at The Westbury Music Theater on Long Island.

At that event, Cosby allegedly plied her with more alcohol, as she wrote, “The next thing I remember was waking up in his (hotel) bed naked. I remember thinking, ‘You old s—,’ I guess you got me this time, but it’s the last time you’ll ever see me.”

Due to the nature of the rape allegations, Cosby’s lawyer, John Schmitt, told reporters that Bill is keeping hush about them as they are, “decade-old, discredited” allegations, adding that the fact they are being repeated, “does not make them true.”
