Kristen Wiig Does Sexy Lingerie Shoot For GQ, Jon Hamm Weighs In

It’s often been said that the only era of Saturday Night Live you find really funny is the one that was airing when you came of age.

Still, as SNL players graduate to prime-time or even more commonly, film, even olds will totally find newer stars of the late night variety show hilarious and appealing. For many, Kristen Wiig is the SNL breakout star of the now, destined for success rivaling that of fairly recent alums Adam Sandler and Tina Fey. Wiig steals the show in many of her projects, with good across-the-board appeal that translates to decent performances in slapstick as well as standard acting.

Also, she’s kinda hot. The 38-year-old comedienne was recently dubbed GQ “bro of the year,” and accepted the honor, doing a sex-ay lingerie shoot for the men’s mag. 40-year-old Bridesmaids co-star Jon Hamm talked about Wiig’s versatility in the mag, discussing how Wiig can occupy “grotesque” comedy characters and switch back with ease. He said:

“The first time I noticed her was watching the SNL sketch ‘Lady Business.’ Kristen’s line was, “I’m a bitch in the boardroom, a bore in the bedroom, and I’m a bear on the toilet,’ which she delivered with over-the-top seriousness,” Hamm, 40, writes. “I thought, ‘My God, this girl is funny.'”

Hamm continues:

“The opening bit in Bridesmaids with all the crazy sexual acrobatics was done on the very last day of shooting,” he writes. “Bounding around in a flesh-colored thong, trying not to sweat all over Kristen while a hundred crew members are literally like, ‘Can we get this done, please?’ Our embarrassment coupled with everyone else’s exhaustion lent that scene a particularly awkward sensibility.”

He concludes:

“But it was inspiring to watch Kristen quarterback the team, be the cheerleader and decision maker, and then get in front of the camera and be hilarious. And surprising.”

Do you think Wiig will be as big as some of her SNL predecessors?
