Florida Mother-Daughter Duo Give Birth On The Same Day In The Same Hospital

A Florida family is elated to welcome two new members to the fold after two individuals from the same family gave birth on the same day. While the chances of two members of the same family giving birth could be fairly common, what is not so common in this case is the fact that the individuals who gave birth on the same day are a mother-daughter duo.

According to Fox News, 40-year-old Heather Penticoff and her daughter, 20-year-old Destinee Martin, found out they both were pregnant, nine months ago – on the same day when Destinee broke the news to her mother. Little did they both know that nine months down the line, they both would give birth on the same day, at the same hospital — just hours apart. Both the women were however given the same due dates. The family maintains that both of them ended up giving birth on the same day after separate diagnosis and evaluations by doctors on them revealed that they needed to induce labor on either of them on the same day.

According to local Florida TV Station WPTV, Destinee was initially not very thrilled to find out that her mother was pregnant along with her. However, she described her experience of the entire process with her mother to be “a lot nicer than if it wouldn’t have went that way,”

Heather Penticoff, in an interview with WPTV later told them:

“This is something that you can’t plan. This is something God sets into motion and you just roll with the punches.”

Heather Penticoff (the mother) gave birth to her daughter, Madeline just two hours and 45 minutes before Destinee Martin gave birth to her son, Damien. Both the babies and the mothers were doing well and were soon discharged from the hospital.

After giving birth Destinee told local TV stations:

“To have my mom go through this with me is probably the most special, amazing thing ever.”

While both of women gave birth on the same day, it was only later that they could be together. Last Thursday, for the first time, the two new mothers and the babies came under the same roof at their residence.

When asked if they would go through something like this once again, Penticoff replied:

“We’re blessed and we wouldn’t change a thing!”

In the past, the Inquisitr has reported about instances where several generations of family members sharing the same birthdays. A mother-daughter duo giving birth on the same day however seems to be even rarer.
