Telltale ‘Game Of Thrones’ Screenshots Leaked
Some Game of Thrones screenshots have made it to the internet ahead of the game’s release. The scenes are quickly circulating through social media, where fans excited for the game’s release have been waiting for new details.
Locations and other details for the game were only recently released — players will see the world through the eyes of five characters, from House Forrester, with loyalty to the Glovers and Starks.
On Telltale’s website, a trailer of the upcoming game is available, but it doesn’t show much in the way of gameplay.
In these new screenshots, though, we get an early glimpse of some of the most well-known characters, and a little more of the game scenery. Here are some shots of some Lannisters and Starks.
The leaked screenshots appear to originate with Twitter user lifelower, who routinely shares images and information about upcoming games. They’re quickly circulating around the social media sphere, though Telltale hasn’t responded to the leak.
Though the playable characters won’t be familiar to those who know Game of Thrones only from the HBO series, the Telltale Games blog notes that they are story canon, appearing in A Dance With Dragons.
The series will be released in six episodes, starting with Iron From Ice, named for House Forrester’s House slogan, which reflects that the family believes life in the harsh North strengthens them and makes them more powerful. While their home, Ironrath, will be a new scene for game players, other locations will be familiar.
Players will visit King’s Landing, for instance — as seen behind Margaery Tyrell in the screenshot above. You’ll also visit the wall with the Night’s Watch, and travel to other locations in Westeros.
As for Ironrath, the family, always loyal to the Starks, finds itself in an uncomfortable position as the rule of the North falls into dispute, and the Starks are named as traitors to the King.
Playing as five members of House Forrester, you’ll have to be careful of your moves, the creators warn, because what one character does affects the others, and you’ll have to walk a narrow line to keep your lives in a kingdom torn by war, with five powers warring to be named the one true king.
Fan response to the leaked screenshots is largely positive, with Game of Thrones fans confirming that the main characters are shown in beautiful, recognizable detail. Do the leaked Game of Thrones screenshots make you more anxious for the game’s eventual release?
