Liam Hemsworth: Kissing Jennifer Lawrence Was ‘Awkward’
When Liam Hemsworth kissed Jennifer Lawrence for their scenes on The Hunger Games, it was not as romantic as they make it appear, but not for the reason you think.
The Australian hunk has spoken about his popular co-star very openly in the past, however, he had never revealed what it is like when they have to smooch for an awkward scene. During a visit to Jimmy Fallon for his The Tonight Show, Liam shared details about what goes on behind-the-scenes.
Fallon invited a seemingly uncomfortable Hemsworth to answer several questions fans had sent ahead of time over Twitter. Maybe Liam thought that that other awkward topic of his very famous ex, would come up.
But when the question about kissing Jennifer Lawrence was asked, Liam Hemsworth said kissing one of his best friends in front of a camera was always awkward. When Fallon pressed him, he explained that Jen would eat offensive foods such as garlic and tuna before hand, but like any good friend would do, she warned him.
“Any time I had to kiss Jennifer was pretty uncomfortable, really awkward. She’s one of my best friends, I love her. But if we had a kissing scene she would make a point of eating garlic or tuna fish or something that was disgusting. And right before the scene she’d be like, ‘Yeah, I had tuna, I had garlic, and I didn’t brush my teeth.’ Fantastic, I can’t wait to get in there and taste it.”

Liam Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and the rest of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 gang are making the rounds promoting the first installment of the last chapter of the franchise, and have been visiting multiple entertainment news shows and late night hosts sharing interesting tidbits about their time filming the saga.

It is not surprising that Liam finds it hard to kiss his friend Jennifer, as the two have become very close, and she even helped him following his very public break-up from singer Miley Cyrus. Hemsworth took a jab at his former flame explaining how Lawrence had cheered him up.
“Being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now… I’m much happier.”
Liam Hemsworth also supported Jennifer Lawrence in her nude photo scandal earlier this year, according to reports. You can watch The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 in theaters on November 21.
