Kate Middleton, Prince William To See LeBron James During US Visit
Kate Middleton and Prince William will take in a basketball game during their trip to the United States of America next month.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are heading across the Atlantic in just a few weeks time. They will visit the East Coast between December 7 and December 9. The pair will start off their time in the country by visiting New York. The Duke will then head off to Washington D.C. for a day, while The Duchess will stay in New York.
The Royal Palace confirmed that they will take in a game of basketball between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets on December 8.
However, while the pair will surely enjoy their time watching the game, they are also there for business reasons. According to the Washington Post, they are attending the NBA game to launch a new juncture that involves the Royal Foundation, United for Wildlife, and the NBA.
When the Palace announced Prince William and Kate Middleton’s trip, they didn’t provide further information on the project. However, it is believed that Prince William will once again team up with United for Wildlife and Yao Ming, an ex-NBA player, with whom he has previously worked. Back in 2013, they all collaborated, alongside soccer icon David Beckham, to try and save the wild rhinos of the world.
As the Inquisitr reported, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s royal visit to the United States was confirmed on Friday.
Clarence House released an official statement regarding their visit to the U.S.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit the USA between 7th and 9th December 2014.
“Their Royal Highnesses will travel to New York for a programme of engagements which will also see The Duke visit Washington DC for a day, while The Duchess remains in New York.
“The Duke and Duchess will attend events on behalf of the Royal Foundation and other charities with which Their Royal Highnesses are closely associated, and also on behalf of HM Government.
“In support of U.K. Government initiatives, The Duke and Duchess will attend events that celebrate the successful partnerships between the UK and USA in the technology and creative industries sectors. This follows events in support of these sectors that Their Royal Highnesses attended in 2011 in California, and reflects The Royal Family’s ongoing support for the creative and technology sectors.”
The pair’s trip will see them take in numerous other charitable visits, which will see them cooperate with various American companies.
