Liam Payne Admits He Did Not Write Lyrics For Song about His Girlfriend

One Direction’s Liam Payne said he finds it ‘a bit weird’ that the lyrics for a song about his girlfriend were written by his bandmate Niall Horan. The song titled “Illusion” was written for One Direction’s Four album which is expected to be released this month. The Daily Mail Online reported that Payne had a live stream with video director Ben Winston in which he told Winston that though he did not write the lyrics he did write the melody.

“… me and Julian, who we write songs with, were talking, we just went outside for a chat and I was telling him about what happened with me. ‘After I left, he [Niall] went back and phoned me up like “Hi, we wrote the whole song about Sophia”, and I was like… “Okay, this is strange…”‘

The Daily Mail Online also reported that Liam Payne and girlfriend Sophia Smith have been dating since late 2013 and were actually childhood friends. Payne who has just returned home to the UK was on a six-month world tour with his One Direction group. He seems to have time for a break as he was spotted on Tuesday night with his lady Sophia at the O2 Arena watching Andy Murray play a match in the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. He spoke about his crazy Australian fans in a radio telephone interview with popular Australian comedic duo ; and Wippa on Sydney’s Nova 96.9.

“I always thought Australia would be somewhere that I’d move to, but then when I first got to Australia I didn’t expect it to be as crazy as it was.” he said during the interview.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Payne admits that he had his worst experience as a celebrity in Australia when a female fan stole his boxers. The 21-year-old singer said this experience has changed his view of the country and he no longer thinks he would reside there permanently. During the interview Payne also recalled a situation where ‘aussie fans’ went crazy after seeing his group on the beach.

“We went to the beach and it was so nice and peaceful and then we turned around and literally there were 800 people on the beach. I got stage fright! I was a bit scared.”

As Payne and his band members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson get ready to release their fourth studio album Four this month, fans watch to see if this will be another success for the group who did well musically and financially in 2013. An Inquisitr report published earlier this year in October said Liam Payne and his One Direction bandmates made £93 per minute in 2013.
