Olivia Wilde “Emphathizes” with Kim Kardashian

“Cowboys & Aliens” actress Olivia Wilde has said that she can empathize with Kim Kardashian’s current situation, following the reality star’s split from husband Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage.

“It’s not easy. It’s the hardest thing in the world,” Wilde – whose divorce from husband Tao Ruspoli was finalized on September 29th – told the New York Post in a recent interview.

Wilde, 27, added that there was no excusable reason for people to attack Kim when there are far more scandalous events going on in the world.

“People judge you because divorce is seen as failure. (Kim) took a risk. No one should be attacking her. Our attention should be focused on things that are truly scandalous,” Olivia said.

Despite Olivia Wilde’s kind words for Kardashian, its obvious that not everyone shares her empathy towards the 31-year-old celebutante.

Just this Wednesday, it was reported that an online petition began to boycott the Kardashian family from being on television.

As of this posting, the petition, called “No More Kardashian,” has more than 129,000 signatures as well as a Facebook page dedicated to sharing the cause with more than 50,000 fans.

“In a grassroots effort, we have collected [thousands of] signatures for a petition asking E! Entertainment to remove the Kardashian suite of shows from their programming… We feel that these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption,” petition organizer Cyndy Snider told Yahoo! in a recent statement explaining the reason behind her movement.
