Metal Gear Solid: Rising gets a new producer (again)

Metal Gear Solid: Rising was announced back during E3 in 2009, but the title has more or less gone dark since its announcement. In fact, one of the last bits of notable news was Hideo Kojima’s announcement at E3 in June of 2010 that he passed the development reigns to Shigenobu Matsuyama.

Now there’s word, by way of Kojima Productions producer Kenichiro Imaizumi’s Twitter account, that those reigns have been passed along again, with the producer shoes being filled in this time around by Yuji Korekado. There’s no word from Konami on why Matsuyama has been replaced, only that he was moved to a different division.

It was recently announced that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will get some sort of showing at the 2011 Spike VGAs next month, but whether that’s a new cinematic trailer, a gameplay trailer or another announcement of some form isn’t known right now.
