Eminem Threatens Lana Del Ray In New Song, Promises To Punch Her “Like Ray Rice”

Eminem’s lyrics are known to stir controversy and straddle the precipice of wit and dissension. His new track, titled “Shady Cxvpher,” teases the notion of physical violence against fellow musical artist Lana Del Ray by mimicking the assault that Ray Rice inflicted upon his now wife.

Lana Del Ray has expressed, in the past, that she is a fan of Eminem’s rhymes, according to UPI, even referring to him as the “Master of Lyrics.” However, her impression of Eminem’s style might be tarnished now that she has become a victim of his lyrical warfare. Despite Eminem’s brutal reference to beating Lana Del Ray, she isn’t the first female victim in one of his songs, just ask Mariah Carey, Brittney Spears, Christina Aquilera, and even his ex wife.

The full verse that mentions Lana Del Ray flows from Eminem via his usual methodology, but has he gone too far?

“But I may fight for gay rights, especially if they dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/Play nice? [expletive deleted] I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/’Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.”

Eminem may seem like a hardened rapper in his lyrics, he is not all that bad. In an attempt to provide Justin Bieber with advice on his issues, he has invited the young pop star over for Thanksgiving dinner and provide guidance. Still, helping out a fellow man of music does not seem to cancel out the victimization he dishes out to women in his raps.

Eminem is now 42 and still working the music platform with the same intensity he had when he first emerged onto the scene. Controversial topics have never been off limits to him, neither have innocent victims in his plight to draw attention to his beats. Lana Del Ray may be his latest victim, but she probably will not be his last. Eminem knows no bounds and speaks what is on his mind. He means no harm most of the time and uses popular references to spread his point across the masses. His soft heart is often overshadowed by his crude rhymes at times.

Eminem has become an idol to many aspiring rappers, singers, and songwriters. His passion for music and showmanship is unsurpassed by many. However, do you feel he crossed a line this time, or do you feel the new rap is harmless in nature?
