World’s Most Expensive Tea is Made With Panda Poop

The world’s most expensive tea isn’t made with some secret hard to find herb. Nope, it’s made with good ol’ fashioned feces. A man in China has produced a tea that is made with panda droppings. At $69,000 per pound, An Yanshi’s panda poop tea will be the most expensive in the world when it hits the market.

An Yanshi, a professor Sichuan University in Chengdu, said that the tea’s rich aroma will attract tea connoisseurs. According to Born Rich, the panda poop tea is also very nutritional. An Yanshi said:

“Pandas have a very poor digestive system and only absorb about 30 percent of everything they eat. That means their excrement is rich in fibers and nutrients… Just like green tea, bamboo contains an element that can prevent cancer, and enhance green tea’s anti-cancer effects, if it is used as fertilizer for the tea.”

As for the taste, Yanshi added:

“It has a mature, nutty taste and a very distinctive aroma while it’s brewing.”

According to Born Rich, Yanshi’s tea is the first to be prepared from animal excretion. Animal crap has, however, already found its way into coffee. The world’s most expensive coffee, Kopi Luwak coffee, contains excretion from the civet, which is a cat like creature that is fed sweet red coffee cherries.

World News Australia reports that An Yanshi has collected nearly five tons of panda poo to manufacturer his tea.

Yanshi doesn’t have a name for his tea yet… any suggestions?
