Adorable Owl Breaks A Smile When It Sees Its Favorite Patron [Video]

Everyone who has animals is familiar with the feeling of walking home to be greeted happily by your pets — unless you have a particularly snarky cat or lazy dog. But one owl simply lights up when his favorite patron enters the room at the reserve where he lives, or at least that’s how the guy interprets it — you can be the judge of whether or not you think the owl’s reaction is a positive one.

The flickering of the owl’s does look a bit like the rapid eye movement humans experience will in REM sleep, which owls have recently been shown to follow much to same cadence as humans. Maybe the little guy is just fast asleep?
